This map is the result of 4 years of research and GIS design by Cartographer and Geologist Bill Peck.  The meteorites plotted on the "Guide to North American Meteorites" have been authenticated and published by the British Museum (Natural History) and the Meteoritical Society. These include those published in the British Museum's Catalogue of Meteorites, 4th edition (1985) and subsequent Meteoritical Bulletin.  In addition to meteorites, the base map shows the ecoregions of the North America (Bailey 1995), regions of continental glaciation (Aber et al 1995), rivers, lakes, and county and state boundaries.
